Create and Test a Wi-Fi QR Code

Generate a Wi-Fi QR code locally with the correct network name, security type and password. Test it on your phone before sharing it.

Use Wi-Fi mode

The linked generator opens Wi-Fi mode. Enter the real network name and password instead of encoding them as plain text.

Match the network settings

Spaces and other characters can be part of the network name. Match the configured security type; an open network should not have a password.

Test nearby

Generate and download the code, then scan near the network with the phone that will connect. Some devices require confirmation or manual connection in settings.

Replace after a change

A static code retains the data entered when generated. Changing the network name or password requires a new code and replacement of the displayed image.

Share an appropriate network

A Wi-Fi QR code can be decoded to reveal the password. Prefer a guest network you intend to share, and treat the downloaded image as containing that password.
