PNG or SVG for Printed QR Codes

Choose a QR download format, preserve contrast and the quiet zone, and test the final printed size with the phones that will scan it.

Choose the format

PNG works for everyday sharing and documents. SVG can scale without pixelation in design software, but size, contrast and the clear border still affect scanning.

Check the encoded content

Check the URL or dedicated Wi-Fi/contact fields before downloading. A static code cannot update its encoded data after printing.

Keep the whole code

Scale proportionally. Do not stretch, crop the clear border or cover the QR modules. Test again after changing colors.

Print a sample

Test the actual print size, material, lighting and scanning distance with a real phone. There is no one minimum size suitable for every QR code.

Maintain the destination

The tool adds no expiry, but a destination can move, close or require login. Check both the printed code and its destination.
